We are just a few months away from hopefully returning to youth football and your Lake Oswego Youth Football board has been busy planning for another exciting season. While all of us have greatly missed the sounds of hard work, whistles, and laughter…what we have all missed the most is each other! Thank you to our athletes, parents, coaches, volunteers, and sponsors for your patience during the missed youth season in 2020. We earnestly believe we are on track for Fall 2021 to a typical football season albeit with more enhanced safety protocols than ever before.
The LOYF board has been working for months with TVYFL on safety protocols for both flag and tackle so we can have a successful season of practices and games. Our pledge is to stay current as modifications are made at the national, state, and county levels.
LOYF has a long history of providing our youth athletes with an organized, safe, and competitive environment. Our focus on Team First, development, playing the game with integrity, and never giving up will forever be at our core. Our coaches are required to teach state of the art safety techniques and fundamentals built on the USA Football’s Head’s Up program after completing hours of training to become a certified football coach. We ask all coaches, players, volunteers and parents to adhere to the highest of standards representing our community.
Further, LOYF prides itself on ensuring our youth athletes have access to the safest youth football equipment on the market. Every single helmet or set of shoulder pads we issue has been certified by one of the major equipment manufacturers and we invest annually to ensure that is always the case at all levels of tackle football.
The LOYF volunteer board is fired up and focused on the 2021 season to bring our youth athletes the very best experience whether this is their first year or final year of youth football. See you all in August! Go Lakers!!
